On May 30, 2025 (Friday), La Liga giant Real Madrid has announced the signing of English defender Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool. The club has confirmed that Alexander-Arnold’s contract will last until 2031. Madrid has also confirmed the defender will be part of the squad before the FIFA Club World Cup, which starts on June 14, 2025.

The club’s statement read.

“Real Madrid C.F. and Liverpool FC have reached an agreement for Trent Alexander-Arnold to join for the next six seasons, from June 1, 2025, to June 30, 2031,”

The 26-year-old made his club debut in 2016 and has played 351 matches for the Reds a scoring 23 goals and providing 92 assists. In the Premier League title in 2019–20, He contributed to finishing Liverpool’s long wait for the Cup. And, he won the PFA Young Player of the Year award. He has won nine trophies with Liverpool.
