India’s 15-member Test squad has been announced for the two-match series against West Indies, which was announced by the chairman of selectors, Ajit Agarkar, in Dubai on Thursday. The squad has included Karun Nair’s omission and Devdutt Padikkal’s return.
Nair could not come back to the Indian Test team for the tour of England earlier this year, where he made 205 runs in four matches at an average of 25.62. Meanwhile, the left-handed Padikkal, who played a Test during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia last November, has been recalled due to a half-century in the Duleep Trophy semifinal and a 150 against Australia A earlier this month.
The first Test against West Indies begins in Ahmedabad on October 2, while the second game in Delhi starts on October 10.
