Today, May 24, 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) board members have announced the squad for the five-match Test series against England. The test series is scheduled for June 20, 2025. Shubman Gill was elected as the Test captain after Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the format. Rishabh Pant has been appointed as deputy captain.
BCCI has included Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul Thakur, and Arshdeep Singh for his maiden Test. Also, Karun Nair made a comeback to the Test side after seven years. However, Mohammed Shami has not been included in the 18-member team.
