South Africa batter Tony de Zorzi is ruled out of the remainder of the One-Day International (ODI) series against England due to an injury sustained on Tuesday. De Zorzi fell awkwardly and suffered a hamstring strain in the first ODI at Headingley in Leeds on Tuesday.
During the game, he remained absent, but would have batted had he been required. South Africa registered a comfortable seven-wicket victory.
Cricket South Africa said that he will undergo scans to determine the extent of the injury, but no replacement would be called up.
Matthew Breetzke has recovered now from his left hamstring strain and will be available for selection for the second ODI at Lord’s on Thursday, its statement added
