The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team and are based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Dallas Cowboys team participate in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the National Football Conference (NFC) East division. It was established in 2009, and its headquarters are located in Frisco, Texas. The team decided to assume its current name before the 2013 season after selling the stadium’s naming rights to telecommunications company AT&T.
In 1960, the Cowboys joined the NFL as an expansion team. The Cowboys are the only NFL team that holds a record of 20 straight winning seasons (between 1966 and 1985) during which they missed the playoffs only twice (1974 and 1984).
