Shubman Gill has been dropped from a spot in India’s T20 World Cup squad due to his recent numbers in the format. Shubman has gone 18 T20I innings without a half-century, and has shown his weakness in a format driven by output and immediacy.
Gill made 28-ball 47 against Pakistan at the 2025 Asia Cup, which marked his return to the T20I side. In 2025, he scored 291 runs from 15 innings, with a highest score of 47, averaging 24.25 at a strike rate of 137.26.
